Insurance and Payment Information
Virtual appointments - Unfortunately, not all healthcare plans cover virtual consultations under the Affordable Care Act. Please contact you insurance provider for details. This includes if you will try and receive reimbursement via a superbill.
Financial Responsibility
Cancelation Policy - Appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.
The patient is responsible for providing accurate billing and insurance information, notifying the practice of any changes, and verifying that their insurance coverage is active prior to appointments. Patients are responsible for all charges associated with services provided including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, self-pay fees, non-covered services, and any remaining balance not paid by insurance or another third-party payer. If insurance denies or delays payment, the patient remains responsible for the balance unless prior written arrangements have been made. Please note that unpaid balances may delay future appointment scheduling or require payment arrangements.
Insurance Details
We are currently seeing families across Augusta, Martinez, Evans, Harlem, Grovetown, Appling, Hephzibah, and North Augusta. A travel fee of $50 will be applied to lactation consultations outside of the regular service area.
We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare and Aetna.
Self-pay options are also welcomed and processed conveniently through our Practice Q client portal.
If we are not in-network with your insurance, a super bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
The Affordable Care Act requires that all new health plans cover lactation support and supplies without cost-sharing “for the duration of breastfeeding,” which means plans may not apply any co-payment, co-insurance, or deductible to these benefits. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology has a great page with information on how to access your healthcare coverage for breastfeeding.
