For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of supporting mothers, babies, girls, and families through education, advocacy, and compassionate care. I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), postpartum doula, educator, and mother of three. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Savannah State University and a Master of Education from the University of Georgia, combining a strong educational foundation with years of experience in maternal and family health.
My journey began in 2005 as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, where I discovered a deep passion for helping mothers feel informed, supported, and confident in feeding their babies. In 2017, I became the first African American IBCLC in Athens, Georgia, and later co-founded a community breastfeeding support initiative that connected families with education, encouragement, and trusted resources. My experience has since expanded to include private lactation care, postpartum doula support, breastfeeding and health education, community outreach, and program leadership.
I am also the founder of Period Empowerment, where I create educational opportunities for girls to build menstrual health literacy through supportive Girls Circles. These spaces are designed to help girls understand their changing bodies, ask questions openly, and feel welcomed, affirmed, and confident in who they are becoming.
Through Confident Breastfeeding, I provide individualized, evidence-based lactation support centered on each mother’s goals, her baby’s needs, and where they are in their feeding journey. Whether preparing to breastfeed, navigating latch or milk supply concerns, pumping, returning to work, or simply needing reassurance, my goal is to offer practical guidance, compassionate support, and a space where families feel heard, respected, and confident moving forward.
